What You Need to Know About Kind Meds Medical Cannabis Dispensary During COVID-19Written by Chris Weatherall on Mar 21, 2020
Are you wondering if Kind Meds is still open during the Coronavirus Pandemic?
You’re not alone. Many of our Medical Marijuana patients are wondering what, if any, changes are taking place over here at Kind Meds. We will attempt to address any concerns you have here on our blog and will post additional updates as things progress.
Dear Kind Meds Patients,
Many states across the United States have issued stay-at-home orders due to the COVID-19 virus. However, many State officials have still allowed essential commerce and travel services. Although each state varies, here in Arizona cannabis dispensaries are still open.
Medical marijuana is medicine and therefore considered essential.
As confirmed by Arizona’s Department of Health, dispensaries are given the permission to remain operational. This means Kind Meds is still offering our patients the ability to come to the store for their medication. If this changes, we will update you immediately.
COVID-19 Safety Precautions for our Patients:
Kind Meds is a Medical Cannabis Dispensary. This means that many of our clients have conditions that require medication and pain relief. Because these patients are vulnerable, we ask that anyone who is showing symptoms of the COVID-19 virus please not come to the dispensary during this time.
The main concern lies with elderly and other vulnerable patients. More than 20% of Arizona patients are older than 61 years old, according to the February report from the Arizona Department of Health. Roughly 5,300 patients have illnesses like cancer or AIDS that could compromise their immune system.
To help prevent the spread of any disease or illness, Kind Meds is also emphasizing patient and employee safety by carefully following Centers for Disease Control guidelines.
If you are a patient that is susceptible to respiratory illness, think about avoiding inhalation products and consider other products such as edibles, oils or tinctures.
Some additional precautions include:
- Allowing patients to call in orders to pick up in the lobby, minimizing patient wait times and contact (learn more)
- Limiting the number of patients inside the dispensary to only 3-4 at any given time
- Only allowing a few people in the waiting room
- Frequently wiping down all surfaces
Due to the increase in store visits and calls, our Leafy menu might not be completely up to date during this time. Before you visit the store, please feel free to call us to find out which products remain available. However, keep in mind that our Budtenders and management team are very busy right now and you may have to wait on the line to talk to a member of our staff.
We appreciate your diligence and patience as we navigate these difficult times together. We continue to strive to provide the highest quality medical cannabis and customer service to our MMJ patients.
We will maintain regular store hours, which are 10AM – 8PM, 7 days a week.
We are here for you. Stay safe and be well.
Thank you for your on-going support,
